The data is provided by the NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care (IC), who collect data for Wales using the Exeter database. This database is a computerised payment system of General Medical Practitioners (GMPs) who are in contract with Local Health Boards.Frequency of publication

Data are shown from 1969 until 2013. The figures represent the position as at 30 September except prior to 2000 and 2009, which is at 01 October.At 1 October for 2009 and before 2000, otherwise 30 September.
